Lawrence Schaffer, M.D.

Dr. Schaffer has been a member of our Pediatric Community since 1976. He completed his medical studies at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and his residency in Pediatrics at Albert Einstein and the prestigious Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is a past Director of Pediatrics at St. Francis Hospital and is presently the Director at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He has served on the board of the Jewish Community Center and Taconic IPA. He was instrumental in establishing the Vassar Brothers Hospital Pediatric Subspecialty Unit which has brought a new level of medical expertise to the entire community. He is a national lecturer on Pediatric Practice Management. Dr. Schaffer along with Dr.’s Blum, Fenner and Aronzon were named as Physicians of the year by Vassar Brothers Hospital in 1995. It was the first time a group was honored this way. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics where he has served on the executive committee of Chapter II, District 3 and the American Academy of Pediatric Section on Practice Management. Professionally, Dr. Schaffer is interested in Developmental Pediatrics, ADHD and other learning disorders.  

John Sieverding, M.D.

Dr. Sieverding has practiced pediatrics since 1993, initially in California. He joined The Children's Medical Group in 2004. He received his degree from UMDNJ in 1990. He completed his pediatric residency training at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Sieverding is a member of SAM (Society of Adolescent Medicine), and a fellow member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is board certified in General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. He resides in Staatsburg with his wife and two shorthaired pointers. 

Puja H. Singh, M.D.

Dr.SinghDr. Puja H. Singh has practiced since 1997. She joined The Children’s Medical group in January 2007. She received her degree from Maulana Azad Medical College, University of New Delhi, India. She completed her Pediatric Residency training at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla in 1997. Dr. Singh is a member of the AAD and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is Board certified. Dr.Singh is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Neonatal Advanced Life Support. She speaks English, Hindi, Urdu, and Kannada. Dr. Singh enjoys watching movies, traveling, shopping and reading. She resides in Westchester with her family. 

Carl D. Sorgen, M.D

Dr. Sorgen has practiced Pediatrics in the Hudson Valley since 1976 and has served as the Director of Pediatrics at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University and Yale Medical School. His postgraduate specialty training in Pediatrics and his subspecialty training in Pediatric Nephrology (Kidney diseases) were completed at the University of Florida at Gainesville. His professional appointments include: Medical Director of the Poughkeepsie Children’s Home, member of the Dutchess County Child Abuse Task Force, and consulting Pediatric Nephrologist at St. Francis Hospital. He is board certified Pediatrician, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support. He authors a column "Kids Bits" for the Taconic papers. 

Jenny Sung, M.D.

Dr. Jenny C. Sung has practiced since 2000, in Cleveland, Ohio. She joined the Children’s Medical Group in 2006. She received her degree in Pediatrics from Duke University School Of Medicine. Dr. Sung completed her Pediatric Residency Training at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and is board certified. She is also certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Advanced Life Support. She speaks English and Chinese (Mandarin and Taiwanese) and enjoys playing with her children, cooking and reading. She resides in LaGrange with her husband, children and dog. 

Michelle Patrick, RN, M.S.N, C.P.N.P.

Michelle joined The Children’s Medical Group in 1997. She completed her nursing studies at Columbia University where she earned her Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees as well as her certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Her previous employment was at New York’s Incarnation Children’s Center, where she cared for children with terminal illnesses and AIDS. Her professional interests lie in the area of chronic illness and family problems.
