What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
Inside Out and Anastasia (90's kid!)
What is your favorite children's book?
Dragons Love Tacos is a huge favorite in my house! I also love the Chronicles of Narnia series for slightly older kids- it is great to read a chapter nightly with your kids! As a parent, Love You Forever gets me every time.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
My American Girl doll (Samantha!)
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My greatest inspiration are my 3 daughters who have taught me so much about how to be a better provider, nurse and overall person.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I coach my daughters' cheerleading team which has been a lifelong love for me (have cheered and/or coached for 25 years). My family lives on right on a lake so we spend all summer down by the water!
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
In 4th grade, I told everyone I wanted to be either a Doctor or a Kindergarten teacher. Becoming a Pediatric Nurse and then Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is the perfect combination of science and fun/joy!
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I have a special interest in lactation and have become an IBCLC to help CMG parents have more access to lactation care and support to reach their feeding goals, whatever they may be. I have advanced training in bottle feeding/bottle refusal, oral restrictions/tongue tie and oral function.
