We welcome Dana Larkin Mitchell (she’s always been called Larkin, ever since she was a young girl) to The Children’s Medical Group. Larkin grew up and trained in New York City, and has led an interesting life. She is a former gymnast, and was an archeologist before going into medicine. She has traveled extensively, including relief work in Haiti as a member of an all-nursing team, which has given her a worldview and wide perspective about medical care.
Larkin spent her early nursing career caring for critically ill children and newborns in intensive care. Larkin says, “My focus now in pediatrics is primarily with asthma, allergy and pulmonary conditions. I also work extensively with new moms regarding feeding and lactation issues, and when needed, I coordinate care with the best lactation consultants.”
Larkin lives in Rhinebeck, and takes advantage of the Hudson Valley’s beauty and recreational offerings. She is a mom with a toddler, enjoys walking and hiking, dancing, reading historical literature and spending time with her extended family.
It’s not a “lark” that Larkin became a Nurse Practitioner!
