She then completed her residency at the University of New Mexico, and is board certified in Pediatrics. As a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, her dedication to medicine is evident.

Dr. Spera was drawn to Pediatrics because she finds children uniquely inspiring to work with. She values forming close, collaborative relationships with families. Due to the role pediatricians play in helping to lay the foundation for a long life of health and wellness, she has found serving the community with her medical knowledge fulfilling. Dr. Spera is passionate about nutrition, the healing properties of food, and supporting the body’s innate healing potential, naturally. Other medical interests of hers include mind-body medicine, shifting children from screens to outdoor play, health equity, and universal access to healthcare. Dr. Spera also spent 14 years in Northern California working in a variety of clinical settings ranging from: inpatient/newborn medicine to adolescent medicine/school-based healthcare, in addition to working a more typical primary care Pediatrics practice.

Dr. Spera grew up in New York City, and spent much of her childhood in Italy with family. She was exposed to art and cultural diversity from a young age. Always yearning to be in nature, Dr. Spera spent 14 years exploring the gorgeous California coastline. With the birth of her son, Sebastian, she decided to move back East, to be closer to family. Dr. Spera has had a wonderful experience thus far in the Hudson Valley. Calling it home, she now enjoys hiking, creating art, practicing yoga and meditation, and spending time with her son.
