My father. He cared deeply for other people and worked to help them through good times and bad. He did it with humility and compassion.

Biking, hiking, running, swimming. I do triathlons every year.
Music. I play cello, guitar, mandolin and old time fiddle.

I knew from the beginning that I loved watching children and families grow. Helping children and parents navigate through the years and being involved in their good times and hard times gives meaning beyond the medical aspects of my job.

I have been in practice for many years. I have seen children grow from the newborn period through childhood and adolescence. Now I see the children of many of those who I knew as children. Having to long term perspective can help guide parents and kids through the trying times.

I have dealt with kids with a wide variety of special needs including physical, neurological, developmental, mental health and social issues. I always try to understand the issues through the child's perspective, not just the medical conditions.
