We’re experts at providing and coordinating care
Perhaps you just delivered a baby or your child needs specialty care. Children’s Medical Group is here to help — even when you’re being cared for somewhere else. We work closely with hospitals and specialist doctors throughout the Hudson Valley to make sure your child receives the extra care they need, including the smooth transition of their treatment plans and medical records back to us.
Congratulations! At the hospital, your newborn will be evaluated by a pediatrician or a pediatric hospitalist (a primary care physician who works exclusively in the hospital environment).
This doctor may or may not work for Children’s Medical Group, depending on the rules of the hospital where you deliver. However, you can see any pediatrician you want after you leave the hospital. Many new parents select a pediatrician based on factors like their proximity to your home, their reputation in the community, and the services they offer — and we hope that you choose us.
You will need to schedule your first pediatric visit within 48 hours after you get home from the hospital, so call (845) 452-1700 as soon as possible.
No parent ever wants to think about their child spending time in a hospital, but it does happen. As a Children’s Medical Group patient, our team will work hard to ensure your child has access to the specialty care they need and deserve — whether that means connecting you with local specialists or working with your insurer to get the hospital stay approved.
Even when your child receives care elsewhere, Children’s Medical Group remains by your side, coordinating with the hospital and/or specialty care team to keep your child’s medical records updated. We also help transition your child’s care back to us when their treatment is complete.
