Dr. Dorothy Damore is a board-certified pediatrician who joined the Children’s Medical Group in July 2024. She graduated from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, and completed her pediatric residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. Additionally, she finished her pediatric emergency fellowship at Akron Children’s Hospital and Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. With twenty years of experience as a pediatric emergency medicine physician, she has acquired substantial expertise in caring for children with asthma and bronchiolitis.
Dr. Damore is well-versed in managing conditions like vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain, recognizing their potential to cause significant dehydration or internal complications. Her tenure at the top trauma center in NYS provided invaluable insight into the diagnostic and management priorities in childhood trauma. Over the years, she has treated numerous injuries, including abrasions, lacerations, sprains, and fractures.
Furthermore, Dr. Damore has eleven years of experience at a burn center in NYC, which equipped her with the expertise in caring for new and healing burns. Dr. Damore’s primary objective is to aid in the recovery process and ensure the safety of her patients. Throughout her two decades as a pediatric clinician in the pediatric emergency department, she has upheld the principles of family-centered care and mutual respect among staff in a teaching hospital environment.
