Development Check Up
It's Natural To Measure Your Child's Height and Weight .... But What About Your Child's Development?
The Children's Medical Group, Astor Early Childhood Programs and The United Way of Dutchess County are offering a FREE service to any child living in Dutchess County who are aged 4 months to 5 years. This service offers another tool with which to measure your child's growth and success.
Parents, grandparents and care providers rely on lots of tools to measure their child's growth -- rules, scales, calendars....but how do you measure your child's ability to meet those very important milestones in their physical, mental and social development?
Specially trained Parent Educators will help you complete a brief questionnaire about your child's development. By completing the questionnaire, caring adults can immediately check their child's successes and learn more about each stage of development. You'll review your child's development in 5 areas: Communication, Gross Motor Skills, Fine Motor Skills, Problem Solving and Personal / Social. Immediate results will let you know where your child is excelling and where you can step in and help. You can have your child screened every 2 to 6 months, depending on their age. You don't need to bring anything -- Just you & your child!
