My medical interests span all aspects of pediatrics.  I am a strong advocate of breastfeeding and I am interested in nutrition and promoting lifestyles that lead to healthy kids.  I also care for many children with a wide variety of chronic illnesses.  I have often spoken to school, hospital and community groups on nutrition and exercise.  I believe that there is nothing better for kids than to be creative, get outside, run around and explore.  This fits with my personal interests in biking, hiking, swimming, boating and sports.

I am proud to be a member of a medical team that travels on medical missions with "Healing the Children Northeast".  The team has traveled to Brazil, Peru and Columbia performing surgery on mostly indigent children needing cleft lip and palate repairs as well as repairing other facial deformities.  I have found the experiences with these children and their families to be both humbling and inspiring and the members of the team to be some of the most generous and caring people I have known.   I encourage anyone who would like to learn more about Healing the Children and see pictures of the children they have treated to visit htcne.org.

I am also a member of the board of directors of the Hudson Valley Sloop Clearwater.  I feel that this is an organization that is doing an important job in introducing the children of the Hudson
